STATE OF THE ARTIST

DISBANDED
The band disbanded in 1980 after the death of John Bonham in 1980. They have only reunited 4 times for one time gigs at Live Aid (1985), Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary (1988), U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction (1995) and the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert (2007). Jones and Page considered touring as Led Zeppelin without Plant, with either Steven Tyler or Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge filling in, but thankfully this did not happen.

RELATIONSHIPS
Robert Plant / Jimmy Page
Robert and Jimmy had a fairly close relationship throughout thier original tenior with Led Zeppelin. The band was generally led by Jimmy. Things changed in 1977. There were already problems mounting with the tour that year. Plant had just recouperaed after a bad car accident, postponing the tour. Their equipment was shipped early to America, making it hard for them to rehears. Plant developed laryngitis, further pushing the tour out. There was violence at one of the concerts. During the tour, Plant learned of the death of his son Karac, shutting the tour down immediately. During his darkest hour, it was only Bonham that came to him. Page and Jones did not attend the funteral. Robert had decided to quit the band and that point but was eventually talked out of it. Coming back for the "In Through The Out Door" album, it was Robert who took the lead in the band. The band ended after that album with the death of Bonham, but all temporary re-unions were done on Robert's terms.
