It's all about timing. When an ex GF calls and there is still something there, it can put a fork in the road. Do you stay where you are in the new relationship or...go back.

AUSTIN WINKLER - 2006:Songwriter Universe

"The lyric of ĎLips Of An Angelí is based on a true story. My ex-girlfriend had called me while my current girlfriend was in the next room. Then when I was writing with Cody, I brought up this idea, and we kind of looked at each other. We realized we had a good song (in the making). Cody then came up with the chord progressions. We knew ĎLips Of An Angelí was a good song, but we didnít know people would relate to it the way they have. When we sing this song live, the audience goes crazy."

AUSTIN WINKLER - 2013:Screamer

"We had just gotten signed and were writing for the record and the incident actually happened to me. I told Cody about it sort of as a joke, joking around with the first line of the song. Itís all true, and when we started to put it together, the song actually wrote itself in all of ten minutes."

AUSTIN WINKLER - 2006:Billboard

"Do me a favor,(Mackay told Hanson) Spend the next week looking out in the crowd and talking to fans about what else they like on the album, so we can get some feedback about what the next single should be. (Hanson then told Mackey) Everybody and their mother are s---ting their pants about 'Lips of an Angel.' It's biker dudes in leather and 18-year-old girls. They're all going nuts for it."

AUSTIN WINKLER 2008:Associated Press

"Originally, 'Lips of an Angel,' the label didnít want it on the record. We knew what a monster that was and basically the fans did too and made it a huge success.
